It’s a cold, cold world, and the odds may really not be aligned in your favor. In fact, it is best to understand that nothing is going to ‘go your way’ until you stretch forth your hand and gain command of your life - leaving not a single unconscious dreg that can contaminate your destiny. At the same time, you need to be someone who 100% believes that everything is going to work out in your favor - that’s the trick. A sense of entitlement, self-preservation, and ambition, is the perfect recipe to prioritize yourself - your goals, ambitions, and successes.

In the realm of human nature, it becomes evident that man is not innocent by his very essence. From birth, he is driven by primal instincts and desires that shape his actions and decisions. Be you a man who supports Rousseau or Hobbes or neither, you must acknowledge that the pursuit of self-interest and self-preservation lies at the core of his being, rendering innocence a mere illusion. In this narrative, man is inherently flawed, prone to vices and temptations that lead him astray from the path of righteousness, taking the shameful fall. It is this inherent nature that makes him susceptible to manipulation and deceit, for he is driven by his own self-centered motivations rather than a noble sense of virtue.
But what good is virtue? Man has had his way on Earth, through free will, since day one - since God put him in charge of the animals in the Garden of Eden. He named them, he organized them, he understood them - and then asked for a companion. There too, he sought dominance over her.
Since time immemorial man has had this propensity toward seeking his favor above others. I’d say this stems from his insatiable thirst for power and recognition. No one wants to die unknown, forgotten, and unacknowledged. Loneliness is the saddest of all conditions - the first unfortunate event to occur in Genesis. Perhaps this is what set man in his pursuit of dominance. To seek and secure advantages and privileges that elevate him above his peers, and to have peers, who trust him and are loyal. The desire to assert his superiority drives him to manipulate circumstances, exploit relationships, and undermine his rivals. Man's ego is a relentless force, compelling him to seek validation and adoration, even at the expense of others. The allure of control and influence beckons him, and he embraces it with open arms, perpetuating a cycle of self-centeredness.
When driven by intoxicating ambition, he becomes a master of deception, employing tactics to achieve his desired ends. He is not bound by moral constraints or empathy for others. Rather, he readily embraces ruthlessness, manipulation, and even violence as tools to further his agenda. The depths of his cruelty are unfathomable, as he is willing to sacrifice the well-being and dignity of others to secure his own success and dominance.
Dear readers, in this essay we will explore how to identify and shield yourselves from people who operate in a realm where self-interest reigns supreme, constantly seeking opportunities to advance their own standing at the expense of others. To trust man blindly is to invite manipulation and deceit into our lives.
